The Rhipsalis Disocactus is characterised by the fresh and bright green colour of its papery stems that combine together in a bunch and hang from the pot. The plant has a tendency to keep growing so it can also look very nice in a tall vase or hanging planter. Place the plant away from direct sunlight and regularly give it a small amount of water. This plant is originally from Brazil.

They are classified as jungle cacti, loving some humidity and shade, so keep moist throughout the year. Commonly grown indoors, they must be carefully placed away at least 50cm away from sunny windows and they will do best when planted in clay pots which allows soil to “breathe” better.

Care:
  • Prefers bright, indirect light and can tolerate direct morning and evening light. Can survive (but will not bloom) on minimal light for extended periods.
  • Give them a good soak when the soil completely dry. Cut back water during cooler months. Too much water can cause roots rot.
  • Balanced, slow-release fertilizer is recommended during warm seasons.
  • Repot into well-drained soil when they outgrow the pot.
Pet-friendliness: Rhipsalis is safe for pets.
