The glaze of the Summit Pots is applied by hand and during the firing process, the ingredients in the glaze react to the temperature of the kiln, resulting in a varied finish.
Reactive glazes have been used by ceramicists for centuries as the variegation in colour and texture was seen as highly prized - creating pieces that are truly unique. This means that each and every piece ends up being different from the next with one off colours and marking making these stunning pots a work of art.
