Refund policy

We hope you love your purchase from Rodwell & Astor. We take great care in curating our collection and presenting each piece as accurately as possible. We also understand that sometimes an item may not be quite right once it arrives.

As a small business, we do not offer refunds for change of mind, however we are pleased to offer an exchange in accordance with the policy below.

Change of Mind

In-Store Purchases

We offer an exchange within 30 days of purchase for eligible items purchased in store.

To arrange an exchange, simply return the item to our Brunswick store with proof of purchase.

Online Orders

If you are unhappy with an eligible item purchased online, we may accept a return for exchange within 30 days of purchase, provided the return request is lodged within 14 days of receiving your order.

Approved returns for exchange will be processed less any original shipping, handling and insurance charges.

Conditions for Return

Returned items must:

  • be in original packaging

  • be in original, unused condition

  • include all hardware, fixtures and accessories

  • not be assembled, installed, altered or damaged

Return postage is the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.

Restocking Fee

A 20% restocking fee may apply to change-of-mind exchanges for items ordered in on demand or specially sourced for a customer. This covers the reasonable costs associated with ordering stock that cannot be returned to the supplier.

This restocking fee does not apply to in-stock items exchanged in store within 30 days.

Custom orders are excluded from return or exchange.

Items Not Eligible for Return or Exchange

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind:

  • vintage items

  • one-of-a-kind pieces

  • custom orders

  • gift cards

  • sale items

  • end-of-line or heavily discounted items

  • floorstock items sold at clearance or reduced pricing

  • perishable goods, including body products

Because vintage and one-of-a-kind items are unique in nature, all such purchases are considered final sale unless deemed faulty under Australian Consumer Law.

Proof of purchase is required for all returns and exchanges.

Faulty Items

If you believe your item is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible by:

Once assessed, if the item is deemed faulty, we will repair, replace or refund it in accordance with your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Breakages or Damage in Transit

We take great care to ensure all orders are packed securely for transit. If your order arrives damaged, broken or incorrect, please notify us within 5 days of delivery.

Your claim must include:

  • clear photographs of the damaged item

  • photographs of the original packaging, including any visible damage

  • a photograph of the shipping label

Once your claim has been reviewed, we will determine whether a replacement or refund is appropriate.

Failure to notify us within this timeframe may be taken as acceptance of the goods.

If an authorised return is required, the item must be returned in its original packaging. If a returned claim is found to be invalid, a restocking fee may apply.

Exclusions

We do not offer a refund, replacement or exchange where, in our reasonable opinion, the product has become damaged or of unacceptable quality due to:

  • fair wear and tear

  • misuse

  • failure to follow care or manufacturer instructions

  • use outside of its intended purpose

  • failure to take reasonable care

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a product has a major fault, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
