Vintage 'Contrast' Espresso Cup & Saucer designed by Martin Hunt in 1974 for Hornsea Pottery.
Cup: 7.5cm tall with a diameter of 6cm. Saucers have a diameter of 13cm.

The “Contrast “ range was produced by Hornsea Pottery from 1974 to 1992. It was Hornsea Pottery's most successful range and sold throughout the world. It won the British Design Council awards for design in the 1970s and in 1976 Contrast received the accolade of being added to the permanent collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Contrast features a unique Lancaster Vitramic ceramic body. The stunning chocolate velvety matt brown was accentuated with a black gloss band and bright white interior. The forms are simple, elegant and beautiful.
“Contrast” has become a British design icon.
