A distinctive piece of 1990s Scandinavian design, the Vajer chest of drawers was designed by Tomas Jelinek for IKEA in 1995. Characterised by its playful sculptural form, the dresser features nine drawers with striking wave shaped fronts finished in glossy green laminate.

The rhythmic curves across the drawer fronts create movement and depth, giving the piece a strong graphic presence while maintaining the clean simplicity associated with Scandinavian design. The cabinet frame is finished in light timber with aluminium cylindrical knobs, creating a subtle contrast with the vibrant drawer fronts.

Both functional and visually engaging, this dresser offers generous storage across nine drawers and works equally well as a statement piece in a bedroom, hallway or living space. Its bold colour and distinctive form make it a highly recognisable example of experimental IKEA design from the 1990s.

A rare find, particularly in this colourway.
